For those more serious about golf, there are no bad weather days at Square Fairways, and you can always find time to practice and play.  Night golf? Yes, you can come hit balls after work, after dinner, after the kids go to bed.

For all, we've created a relaxing and fun vibe on purpose. We invite all ages and all skill levels to come check us out.

Rules of Play at Square Fairways

All of us at Square Fairways want to make sure everyone has a fun and safe experience. Below is a list of rules we ask each member and guest to follow while inside our facility.

Tee times: A tee time is not required, but will guarantee you time on a simulator. Walk-ins are welcomed, but there are no guarantees a simulator bay will be available. With a reserved tee time, please arrive 10 to 15 minutes before your reservation to check in and get set up. Guests may be notified when the end of a tee time is approaching but it is expected that guests keep track of their time. At no time shall your time infringe on the incoming group or member.

Changing a tee time: You may adjust your tee time online or by calling during business hours. We ask for as much notice as possible to ensure times are available for others. No-show tee times will be charged the total rental price. Same-day cancellations may receive up to a 50% refund at the sole discretion of Square Fairways staff.

Play safe: Before swinging, always check your surroundings for people, equipment, or other obstructions that may be in the way. One golfer may be swinging inside a bay at a time. Only hit a single ball from the turf area and always aim toward the screen.

Be alert: Whether you are sitting or walking around, always be aware of your surroundings and others who may be swinging a golf club.  Parents are responsible for their child’s safety and location at all times.

Dress code: A shirt, shorts/pants, and shoes are required at all times. This isn’t a country club, so we’re not strict – but please wear appropriate clothing.

Shoes: It is strongly encouraged for all golfers to wear clean, closed-toe shoes. Shoes with metal spikes are not allowed. If you choose to wear sandals or other open-toe shoes, you are accepting the risk of injury.

Equipment: If you bring your own clubs, make sure they are clean before playing. We have a club washer and ask that you use that before hitting balls into our white screens. If you rent our clubs, please treat them respectfully. Clean golf balls are provided in each simulator. Please DO NOT use your own golf balls.

Food: Members and guests may purchase snacks from Square Fairways or order delivery service from our restaurant partners. Please wash and wipe your hands before swinging a golf club to ensure there are no greasy or fly-away clubs. Please keep all food on the tables and away from the turf and electronics.

Drinks: Members can receive free water and coffee, and guests may purchase non-alcoholic beverages while at Square Fairways and/or bring their own beverages with them. We are a BYOB facility and we ask that you please drink responsibly. We have the right to remove you from the facility if alcohol is a problem. Guests who violate this rule may be subject to expulsion with no refund. Please keep all drinks away from the turf.

Surveillance: Guests acknowledge that the Square Fairways facility is under 24/7 surveillance inside and outside of the building.

Smoking and vaping: Smoking or vaping is strictly prohibited inside the Square Fairways facility. Guests may choose to smoke or vape outside, away from the building entrances, and safely dispose of any waste.

Pets: With clubs swinging and balls flying, it can be a stressful and dangerous place for pets. We allow service animals to accompany guests, but ask that you ensure the animal’s safety at all times.

Be respectful: Be respectful of other guests and our staff. Violators are subject to removal.

If you bring your clubs, we ask that you clean them in our club washer before playing on the simulator. Dirt from the golf course can easily transfer to our pretty white screens.

What is it like to play on a golf simulator?

It's a blast! The technology, accuracy and realistic visuals has dramatically improved in the past few years. Our golf simulators are world-class and give you a very real golf experience. There are fun target games to play, a driving range to practice your skills, and hundreds of golf courses you've probably heard, of and many you haven't, that look and feel very close to the actual course.

Playing indoors feels different compared to a wide open driving range or golf course. Something called "Simulator Syndrome" is a real thing. Your first couple of times swinging a golf club and hitting balls in a room will feel strange. Don't worry if you're not as sharp or free-swinging as you are outside. It's natural and you'll adapt the more times you play.

And finally, it is awesome technology that might blow your mind (but don't let it intimidate you). We are here to help you click through the buttons and, like a good caddie, find your way around the course and the different options to play and experience.

Is it ok if I've never played golf before?

Absolutely! One of the many great things about a golf simulator is that it's a perfect training tool for beginners and serious players alike. You can learn to play indoor golf and gain confidence before heading to a real golf course. You'll never lose a golf ball indoors and most of the time, no one will be watching. You can book your own private time to work on your game, or just come and play with your friends, and learn as you go, while having a good time.

Do you sell food & alcohol?

Our Members enjoy Free Water, Coffee, and choices from our Snack Station. You are able to  order to-go from our friends next door at the Athens Brewery and from the great folks at Freelancers Cafe / Shenanigans or any other delivery service from restaurants around town.

It's also BYOB, so bring your own beer and wine and we ask that you drink responsibly while having a good time.

There will be certain days and events that we have Food Trucks on site and we will advertise those times in advance.

Is it only virtual golf courses that I'd play?

You can play golf courses from around the world, local golf courses like Athens Country Club and Pinnacle Golf Club, and the courses that the PGA Tour plays. You can also play games like "corn hole", "glass break" and "river walk targets" among others. Practice time can be done on the driving range too.

How long does it take to play a round of sim golf?

For 1 person to play 18 holes of golf it usually takes about 1 hour. For a small group of people, it could take about 3 hours to complete 18 holes. Remember, you don't have to walk/drive to your ball after every shot - or look in the trees, or fish your ball out of the water. It's pretty quick which makes it fun and easy to play.

Do you offer golf lessons?

Yes we are a PGA Certified Facility and our Teaching Professional, Sean Adams, will help you improve as a golfer. We offer a variety of golf lessons for individuals and groups.

Visit the Lessons page to learn more and to purchase a package that will help you develop your skills and enjoy the game more.

How does putting work on a golf simulator?

The golf simulator system has 3 high-speed cameras that are specifically focused on the area of ball & club impact. What happens at the point of impact is then displayed on the screen as the ball travels through the air and/or rolls on the grass. It will be a bit of an adjustment if you've never done it before - but there's also a helpful "Gimme" circle around the hole too.
